Ovechkin Weekend Roundup

Alex Ovechkin is 0-2 with Team Russia so far at the World Championships in Bratislava.  On Sunday, Ovie posted 2 shots and a -1 rating in 14:49 of ice time in a 3-2 loss to the Czech Republic.  Adding insult to injury, former Cap Jaromir Jagr scored a goal (shockingly, former Cap Jiri Novotny was held scoreless).  On Monday, Ovie fired off 9 shots in 18:29 of ice time in a 3-2 shootout loss to Finland.  Former Cap Sami Lepisto was also scoreless in that game. 

Here's hoping for a better result when Russia plays Canada on Thursday in the Quarterfinal.  The game is scheduled for 8:15pm local time.
