2009 - 10 Capitals Awards Ceremony: Art Ross, Hart, Norris, Rocket Richard Trophies and Plus/Minus Award

Continuing with our 2009 - 10 Capitals Awards Ceremony, Rock the Red would like to acknowldge the following award recipients which are not up for debate either due to statistics (Richard and Art Ross Trophies, Plus/Minus Award) or members of the Capitals' roster are nominated as a finalist among the National Hockey League (Norris and Hart Memorial Trophies). ...and the winners are!

Art Ross Trophy awarded to the National Hockey League player who leads the league in scoring points at the end of the regular season:
Alex Ovechkin (109P) followed by Nicklas Backstrom (101), Alex Semin (84) and Mike Green (76)

Hart Memorial Trophy awarded to the National Hockey League  "player adjudged most valuable to his team":
Alex Ovechkin (two-time winner) also nominated: the Pittsburgh Penguins' Sidney Crosby (one time winner) and the Vancouver Canucks' Henrik Sedin (first nomination)

Norris Memorial Trophy for the NHL's "defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position":
Mike Green (second nomination) also nominated: the Chicago Blackhawks' Duncan Keith (first nomination) and the Los Angeles Kings' Drew Doughty (first nomination)

Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy awarded to the leading goal scorer in the National Hockey League:
Alex Ovechkin (50G) followed by Alex Semin (40), Nicklas Backstrom (33) and Mike Knuble (29)

Plus/Minus Award awarded to the NHL's hockey "player, having played a minimum of 60 games who leads the league in plus/minus statistics":
Jeff Schultz (+50) followed by Alex Ovechkin (+45), Mike Green (+39) and Nicklas Backstrom (+37)

Remember, all distinctions are awarded pretending that the Washington Capitals are the only team in the NHL and we are the sole voters in the PHWA.
